UCI IN BERGEN, NORWAY 2017
Bergen 2017 is the organization responsible for planning and organizing the UCI Road World Championships in Bergen, Norway 2017.
The Norwegian Cycling Federation (NCF) is proud to once more be hosting the biggest international cycling event – the UCI Road World Championships. This will be the second time in the history of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) that Norway is host country.
In 1993 Oslo was host City, and the event also featured the the Track World Championships that was beeing held at Hamar.
Bergen was chosen as the Norwegian Candidate Host City in 2011, and since then the NCF, the City of Bergen, Hordaland County Council and the neighbouring municipalities of Askøy, Fjell, Sund and Øygarden have worked together to host this fantastic event. In September 2014, during the UCI Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain; Bergen and Norway was awarded the 2017 Road World Championships.
